Hansamo Showcases Korean Pungmulnori at the 2025 Mid-Autumn Food Festival in Sunnyvale
The 2025 Mid-Autumn Food Festival, held on October 11 and 12 at Cityline Sunnyvale, brought together the best of food, culture, and community for a vibrant weekend celebration. Under clear autumn skies and warm sunshine, families and friends gathered to enjoy more than a hundred food vendors from across the Bay Area, along with live music and cultural performances that filled the streets with energy.
On the first day of the festival, Hansamo took the stage following the dog show, presenting a captivating Pungmulnori. The vibrant rhythms of the drums and gongs resonated through the modern streets of Cityline, creating a striking harmony between Korea’s deep-rooted cultural heritage and the contemporary, urban atmosphere of Silicon Valley.
Audiences enjoyed their meals and refreshments while immersing themselves in the exciting sound of the instruments and the performers’ dynamic energy. The colorful Hanbok costumes and synchronized movements offered a vivid glimpse into Korea’s festive traditions of the past, while the excitement and communal spirit evoked memories of traditional celebrations once shared in Korean villages.
Despite the warm sunshine and long wait before their turn, the Hansamo performers demonstrated dedication and passion. After their performance, the team joined the lively crowd to enjoy the food, explore the festival, and celebrate the day together. Though the performance required a long trip, it was a rewarding experience filled with music, laughter, and cultural connection.
Hansamo’s participation in the Mid-Autumn Food Festival not only showcased the beauty of Korean traditional performing arts but also reflected the growing cultural diversity and sense of community within the Bay Area.
