2025 Pleasant Hill Library
Korean Traditional Music & Dance
On April 19, 2025, Hansamo returned to the Pleasant Hill Library for our second performance at this beautifully designed, modern public space.
Our dance team presented the rhythmic Samgomu (Three-Drum Dance), followed by an energetic Pangut (drumming and dancing) by our Pungmulnori team. The audience was a wonderful reflection of the community, ranging from young families to seniors who share a deep love for culture and literature.
It was especially moving to see Korean-American parents explaining our traditions to their children in English. Having experienced the joy of discovering our own roots through Hansamo, seeing that same spark of connection in the younger generation was incredibly rewarding. While we always thrive on the crowd’s energy, performing for these children made this particular event even more meaningful.
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share our heritage and look forward to many more community performances.
