Celebrating Community Spirit:
HANSAMO Honored by
the SF & Bay Area Korea Center

On February 21, 2026, Hansamo was proud to receive the Excellence in Korean Language Education & Community Service Award from the San Francisco & Bay Area Korea Center. This honor recognizes organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting Korean language and culture while serving the Northern California community.

Hansamo was specifically recognized for its active participation in diverse local events and its commitment to sharing Korean heritage with the broader Korean-American community and beyond.

While the award ceremony took place in San Francisco, our performance teams were busy sharing our culture on stage at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) for their 25th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration. Because of this, HANSAMO President Keuna Bae and parent representative Jin Hee Yeom attended the ceremony to accept the award on behalf of the group.

We don’t volunteer for the recognition, but receiving such a prestigious award is a truly proud and joyful moment for all our students, parents, and teachers. It is a wonderful reminder of the impact we make when we work together.
